This dossier documents Southern Trust Company, Inc. (STC) — the single most important financial entity in the Epstein architecture. Incorporated in the U.S. Virgin Islands on November 18, 2011 (EIN 66-0779861), STC was the primary vehicle through which Jeffrey Epstein received, routed, and concealed more than $165 million in documented financial flows: a $25M contingency fee from Edmond de Rothschild Holdings (EFTA00310331), $140M+ in "financial strategy and planning" invoices to Leon Black / Apollo Global Management (EFTA00787656, EFTA00587065, EFTA00585170), and $157M+ in Deutsche Bank account balances across 13 accounts (EFTA00101280). The investigation draws from 30+ EFTA documents with full text, Deutsche Bank KYC and compliance files, VIEDC/EDC tax exemption records, USVI court filings, and the broader Neo4j knowledge graph (5.37M nodes, 4.96M relationships, 39 data sources). All 27 planned Neo4j queries returned results.
The corporate architecture is a nested chain of control: Epstein was the sole shareholder of STC (EFTA01373893), which wholly owned Southern Financial LLC (SFL), which operated the derivatives brokerage and held the Deutsche Bank trading accounts. Epstein was also the grantor of Haze Trust, which fed wire transfers through the chain. Below these sat Butterfly Trust, Caterpillar Trust 2, and The 1953 Trust — all controlled by the same signatory triad: Darren Indyke (Power of Attorney), Richard Kahn / HBRK Associates (Treasurer), and Lesley Groff (executive assistant routing payments). STC's H1 2017 financial statement (EFTA01362870) reports $15.9M in revenue and $233.7M in subsidiary investments — yet the KYC form submitted to Deutsche Bank (EFTA01379227) declared estimated assets of only $2-5 million, a 46-116x understatement.
STC obtained a 90% tax exemption from the USVI Economic Development Commission by describing its business as providing "extensive DNA database and data-mining platform" and "financial and biomedical informatics" (EFTA01121673) — language personally negotiated by Erika Kellerhals with the EDC and approved by Governor de Jongh in October 2013. The entity's actual financial activities — derivatives trading, trust management, Rothschild consulting fees, Leon Black invoicing — bear no documented relationship to DNA databases or biomedical informatics. In 2023, the USVI Superior Court found that STC performed "no real services" and that its revenues funded the "Epstein Enterprise" — language from the government's civil enforcement action resulting in a $105 million settlement.
Three documents reveal the cleanup phase. In March 2019, Darren Indyke wrote: "Will delete and have Rich sign as 'Treasurer' of Southern Financial, LLC" (EFTA02637769) — a document destruction instruction naming Kahn as the signatory for a shell entity. In January 2018, Lesley Groff instructed staff to "re-write check to Southern Financial LLC and give to Rich" (EFTA02234489) — routing payments through the subsidiary. In February 2019, Kahn requested pricing to sell $7.5M in fixed income positions across STC and SFL accounts (EFTA01375143) — bond liquidation preceding the March-May 2019 Deutsche Bank account closures.
v2.0 finding: STC was not just a shell -- it was the legal, financial, and operational vehicle for a vertically integrated genomics program built over seven years. STC's 2012 EDC application (EFTA01100131) explicitly declared a DNA services retail business using third-party internet providers -- identical to the 23andMe model used five years later. In January 2014, STC wired $30,000 to Novamente LLC (EFTA01361262) for "Machine Learning and automated reasoning Technology for analyzing gene expression and SNP data" (EFTA01191403) -- software purpose-built to process exactly the type of data 23andMe consumer kits generate. Infrastructure was built (2014-2015) before data collection (2017). On October 4, 2013 -- the exact day the EDC approved the "DNA database" certificate language -- Epstein's calendar shows a 9:30am meeting with Boris Nikolic (EFTA02331772), Bill Gates' biomedical/genomic investment advisor and the man later named sole successor executor of Epstein's will. Epstein personally underwent dual exome sequencing (saliva + fibroblast cell lines) through Harvard geneticist Joe Thakuria and George Church in 2013-2014. By June 2017, Groff ordered 30 23andMe kits ($6,084.95) for VIP recipients including Ariane de Rothschild (4 kits to Geneva), Sultan bin Sulayem (hand-carried to Dubai via JFK), Aziza Alahmadi, Woody Allen, and Noam Chomsky. The USVI court's "no real services" finding is simultaneously correct (no consulting was provided for the fees received) and incomplete -- the "DNA database" in STC's charter described, in sanitized form, an actual program with declared business plans, purpose-built analytical software, personal genome sequencing, and a VIP genetic data collection campaign.
v3.0 finding: The master detective pass (179 Neo4j queries, 2,539 rows) resolved or advanced all 7 open leads. "J. Watson" is definitively James D. Watson -- Nobel laureate, DNA double helix co-discoverer -- confirmed by subject line "James D. Watson" (EFTA02205384), assistant "Maureen," and Cold Spring Harbor Lab context; he lunched with Epstein and Ronald Lauder on Feb 24, 2017 at 9 E 71st St. The 30 Sultan kits were destined for "Mohamad Maktoum" via Emirates at JFK (EFTA02214127) -- linking the DNA collection campaign to Dubai's ruling family. Sultan separately ordered 30 AncestryDNA kits for "Shaikh Mohammed" (EFTA02649693, May 22, 2017) -- a parallel 60-kit pipeline. The Novamente invoice was explicitly for "Algorithm DNA database management" with payment contingent on server receipt (Kahn to Epstein: "should I send 30,000 from STC to Ben now or wait until we receive servers"). Epstein was an enrolled Harvard PGP participant from 2015 through at least July 2017 (EFTA01190848, EFTA00639570). Peter Attia proposed sending a "kit for Leon Black" through Epstein's house (EFTA02499139). The Rothschild "big data algorithm" contact was identified as "Shlomo" (EFTA01939206). Epstein decided to fund the Harvard Personal Genome Project as early as June 2006 (jmail: "I am going to fund the personal genome project at Harvard"). The Drokova DNA storage company is Catalog ($9M raise, June 2018, stores data on synthetic DNA). Bode Technology materials are investment pitch documents, not service contracts. Enhanced Education -- at the same USVI address as STC -- received $10.5M from Leon Black in December 2014 (EFTA00584573).
No criminal charges have been filed against Southern Trust Company, Southern Financial LLC, Erika Kellerhals, or HBRK Associates in connection with the financial architecture described in this dossier. The $105M USVI settlement was a civil enforcement action, not a criminal prosecution. Appearance in documents does not establish wrongdoing.

The USVI court found STC performed "no real services" for its consulting fees. That finding is correct. But the deep investigation reveals that STC's EDC certificate language -- "DNA database" and "biomedical informatics" -- described an actual program with declared business plans, purpose-built analytical software, personal genome sequencing, and a VIP genetic data collection campaign. This section documents the evidence across eight sub-sections, with explicit grading of each evidence tier.
[GRADE A1 -- EFTA01100131, EFTA02548284 (EDC application, FIVI business plans)]
The DNA program did not begin with the October 2013 certificate revision. It began with the entity's founding documents.
December 28, 2012 (EFTA01100131): A letter from Kellerhals Ferguson to the USVI EDC, responding to questions about STC's application, explicitly declares the DNA retail business:
"It is the intention of STC to build both components of the business, biomedical applications and financial applications."
Under the heading "DNA Services," the letter states:
"It is anticipated that the retailing of DNA services to individual consumers will take place via the Internet. All DNA testing services will be provided by third party providers."
This is not vague certificate language. This is a specific business plan declaration: retail DNA services to consumers, delivered via the internet, through third-party testing providers. 23andMe is exactly such a third-party DNA testing provider delivering services via the internet. The description was filed five years before the June 2017 23andMe bulk order.
The application included a five-year financial projection breaking down anticipated revenue between biomedical and financial fee income -- treating the DNA component as a genuine revenue-generating business line. Epstein personally appeared at the November 15, 2012 public EDC hearing at Cyril E. King Airport, St. Thomas, and explained the data mining approach.
January-February 2012 (EFTA02548284, EFTA01173442, EFTA00300168): Before STC was even incorporated, business plans for FIVI -- Financial Informatics Virgin Islands -- describe a USVI entity with both biomedical and financial data components. FIVI is the documented predecessor to STC's dual-use structure, establishing that the biomedical component was part of the concept from inception, not added later as window dressing.
WHAT THIS SHOWS AND DOES NOT SHOW: The 2012 EDC application establishes that STC's DNA business description was not random certificate language chosen to sound technical. It was a declared business plan with specific components: retail DNA services, internet delivery, third-party providers, and a five-year revenue projection. This does NOT establish that STC actually built or operated the described DNA retail business -- the USVI court found it performed "no real services." The question is whether the plan was always a fiction used to obtain tax benefits, or whether it described intended activities that were pursued through other channels.
[GRADE A1 -- EFTA01361262, EFTA01191403-06 (STC wire records, Novamente invoice chain)]
Thirteen months after the EDC application, STC began funding DNA analysis software.
January 6, 2014 (EFTA01361262): STC wires payment to Novamente LLC via Deutsche Bank. This is the first documented financial transaction connecting STC to an actual DNA-related activity. Novamente LLC was founded by Ben Goertzel, an artificial general intelligence researcher whose work spans AGI and genomics.
February 3-5, 2015 (EFTA01191403-06): Richard Kahn requests an invoice from Goertzel for services described as "Algorithm DNA database management" -- language that directly echoes the EDC certificate's "DNA database" description. The resulting invoice specifies:
The technical specificity is critical. SNP data (Single Nucleotide Polymorphism data) is exactly what consumer 23andMe kits generate. The 23andMe Health and Ancestry Service works by genotyping approximately 650,000 SNPs across the human genome. Novamente's software was purpose-built to analyze gene expression and SNP data -- the precise output format of the kits Epstein would order two years later.
This creates the complete analytical chain:
23andMe kits (2017) -> collect SNP data from VIP saliva samples
|
Novamente software (2014-2015) -> analyze gene expression + SNP data
|
All funded/routed through STC (USVI, 90% tax exempt)
The infrastructure was built 2-3 years before the data collection campaign. Software before samples. This is consistent with a planned program, not an improvised one.
WHAT THIS SHOWS AND DOES NOT SHOW: The Novamente contract establishes that STC funded purpose-built SNP analysis software through a documented invoice chain involving Kahn and Goertzel. The invoice language ("Algorithm DNA database management") directly mirrors the EDC certificate language. The SNP analysis capability matches 23andMe output format. This does NOT establish that the Novamente software was actually used to process 23andMe kit data, or that the software was ever deployed operationally. The $30,000 payment is modest for a software project -- it may represent a prototype, a consulting engagement, or preliminary work that was never completed.
[GRADE A2/D -- EFTA02331772 (mol10_findings.json calendar), EFTA01121673 (EDC certificate); date coincidence analysis]
A single date connects two otherwise separate evidence threads.
October 4, 2013 (EFTA01121673): The EDC approves the revised certificate language adding "extensive DNA database and data-mining platform" and "financial and biomedical informatics" to STC's authorized business description.
October 4, 2013 (EFTA02331772 / mol10_findings.json): Epstein's calendar shows a 9:30am appointment with Boris Nikolic.
Boris Nikolic is:
The coincidence of these two events on the same date raises the question of whether Nikolic's meeting was related to the DNA certificate approval. Nikolic's expertise -- biomedical/genomic investment, Gates Foundation science advisory, NSA cryptographic contacts -- aligns precisely with the certificate's "biomedical informatics" and "DNA database" language.
WHAT THIS SHOWS AND DOES NOT SHOW: The October 4, 2013 date coincidence is analytically significant but not probative. Epstein met with many people on many dates; the EDC certificate approval may have been scheduled independently of Nikolic's visit. No document explicitly states that Nikolic was consulted about the EDC certificate or the DNA program. However, the alignment of Nikolic's specific expertise (biomedical genomics, Gates Foundation science, NSA contacts) with the certificate's specific language (DNA database, biomedical informatics) is notable. This is a Grade D inference based on Grade A1/A2 source documents.
[GRADE A1/A2 -- EFTA02128082, EFTA02127776, EFTA02331772, EFTA01917706, EFTA02094032, EFTA02103851, EFTA00583254, EFTA00711284, EFTA02365853, EFTA02523351 (genome tracking, saliva collection, Church pitch, Coursera, HLI, BGI)]
While STC was building the legal and software infrastructure, Epstein was simultaneously pursuing his own genome sequencing through Harvard-affiliated scientists.
Self-Education (January 2013):
EFTA00711284: Epstein enrolled in Coursera's "Dynamical Modeling Methods for Systems Biology" using jeeproject@yahoo.com -- a course covering computational biology, mathematical modeling of biological systems, and systems-level analysis.
Personal Genome Tracking (September-November 2013):
EFTA02128082, EFTA02128122, EFTA02127343: Multiple Groff calendar alerts to follow up on "JE's genome" with Joe Thakuria -- a physician at Massachusetts General Hospital affiliated with Harvard genomic studies. George Church introduced Epstein to Thakuria as a research subject for the Personal Genome Project.
EFTA02127776 (September 23, 2013): Groff emails George Church's office about Epstein's genome. Church is a Harvard genetics pioneer, founder of the Personal Genome Project (PGP), and co-founder of multiple genomics companies (Editas Medicine, eGenesis, Nebula Genomics).
The Full Day -- June 21, 2014 (EFTA02331772):
Epstein's schedule reveals a carefully sequenced genomics day:
Three of Epstein's top science contacts in sequence, culminating in a biological sample collection. This was not casual socializing.
Dual Exome Sequencing (June 24, 2014 -- EFTA01917706):
Three days after the saliva sample, records reference "Jeffrey's 2 exomes (saliva and fibroblast cell lines)" -- dual-method exome sequencing using both a saliva sample and cultured skin cells. Dual-method sequencing provides higher-confidence results and is atypical for consumer-grade testing.
Retained Biological Material (October 2014 -- EFTA02094032):
Thakuria notes: "We have extra saliva from the sample he already provided" -- confirming that biological material was retained beyond the immediate sequencing need.
Exome Invoice (EFTA02103851): Thakuria's $1,000 exome invoice queues Epstein alongside a "YPO Austin study" -- Young Presidents' Organization, a network of CEOs. This suggests Thakuria was conducting genome analysis for multiple high-net-worth individuals, not just Epstein.
Harvard PGP Participation: Epstein was registered as a research subject in Church's Personal Genome Project at jeevacation@gmail.com -- the same address used for other Epstein activities.
Church Funding Pitch (EFTA00583254): A Harvard Medical School document pitches Epstein to invest in Church's lab, describing Church as a "world renown geneticist." This establishes the financial relationship: Epstein was not merely a research subject but a potential investor in Church's genomics infrastructure.
BGI China (November 21, 2011 -- EFTA02523351): David Stern emails Epstein about "DNA China" -- DNA sequencing projects with BGI (Beijing Genomics Institute), then the world's largest genome sequencing center. This predates the STC EDC application by nearly a year, establishing Epstein's interest in industrial-scale genomics before the USVI tax vehicle was created.
Human Longevity Inc. / J. Craig Venter (December 2016-January 2017 -- EFTA02365853, EFTA02358393):
Health Nucleus, Craig Venter's whole-genome sequencing service, contacted Epstein in December 2016. A January 2017 follow-up confirms Epstein had made an active inquiry. This contact occurred 2-3 months before the March 2017 23andMe kit campaign -- suggesting Epstein was exploring multiple genomic data collection channels simultaneously. Venter is the scientist who led the private Human Genome Project, racing the NIH to sequence the first complete human genome.
WHAT THIS SHOWS AND DOES NOT SHOW: The personal genome program establishes that Epstein pursued his own genome sequencing through Harvard's top genetics researchers (Church, Thakuria), underwent dual-method exome sequencing unusual for consumer purposes, retained biological material, enrolled in computational biology coursework, and explored industrial-scale genomics (BGI China, HLI/Venter). This demonstrates genuine scientific engagement with genomics -- not merely superficial interest. This does NOT establish that Epstein's personal genomics program was connected to STC's EDC certificate or the Novamente software contract. The personal program was conducted through Harvard channels, not through STC's USVI operations.

In spring-summer 2017, four years after the EDC certificate and two years after the Novamente software contract, the data collection campaign began.
The Complete Order Chain (June 8, 2017):
The hand-carrying of DNA kits as aircraft luggage to circumvent 23andMe's geographic restrictions is operationally significant. Standard gift-giving would use international shipping.
Geneva DNA Kit Shipments (March 2017):
Geneva is the headquarters of Edmond de Rothschild Group -- Ariane de Rothschild's bank, the same entity that paid STC $25 million. Four kits for one household indicates family-wide genetic testing.
Aziza Alahmadi -- Named Recipient (May 2017):
All Named DNA Kit Recipients:
| Recipient | Role | Kit Details | Source |
|---|---|---|---|
| Ariane de Rothschild | CEO, Edmond de Rothschild Group | 4 kits to Geneva (Mar 2017) -- family-wide | EFTA02657180 |
| Sultan bin Sulayem | Chairman, Dubai World/DP World | 30 kits hand-carried to Dubai via JFK | EFTA02216142 |
| Aziza Alahmadi | Associate | Kit sent May 2017, confirmed receipt | EFTA02212965 |
| Woody Allen | Film director | Kit recipient | 23andMe records |
| Soon-Yi Previn | Allen's wife | Kit recipient | 23andMe records |
| Noam Chomsky | Linguist/MIT professor | Kit recipient | 23andMe records |
| Valeria Wasserman Chomsky | Chomsky's wife | Kit recipient | 23andMe records |
| "Jabor" | Unidentified | Registered by Karyna Shuliak | 23andMe records |
| ~22 others | Unidentified | 30 kits ordered, ~8 named | -- |
Sam Epstein's Existing Account (2013 -- EFTA00706619, EFTA02722079): "DNA Relatives" notifications sent to jeevacation@gmail.com indicate a family member already had an active 23andMe account -- establishing that Epstein's household was engaged with consumer genomics before the 2017 bulk campaign.
Bode Technology Forensic DNA (EFTA00725199, EFTA01088764, EFTA00608274): Brochures from Bode Technology, a forensic DNA analysis company used by law enforcement, appear in Epstein's files. The presence of forensic-grade DNA analysis materials alongside consumer 23andMe kits suggests awareness of multiple tiers of DNA analysis capability.
Masha Drokova DNA Storage (June 26, 2018 -- EFTA02515807): Drokova emailed Epstein about a company that stores information on DNA -- extending the DNA interest timeline into 2018.
WHAT THIS SHOWS AND DOES NOT SHOW: The 2017 VIP collection campaign establishes systematic DNA kit distribution to high-value associates across multiple countries (Switzerland, UAE, US), with operational security measures (hand-carrying to circumvent geographic restrictions, Epstein's personal Amex). The named recipients include the CEO of the bank that paid STC $25M (Ariane de Rothschild) and a Dubai business magnate. Only ~8 of 30 kit recipients are identified. This does NOT establish that the collected DNA data was processed through Novamente's SNP analysis software or stored in any STC-operated database. The kits were consumer products processed by 23andMe's own labs -- Epstein would have received standard 23andMe results, not raw SNP data for independent analysis, unless separate arrangements were made.

LAYER 5: SCIENCE NETWORK (ONGOING)
James Watson: $15-30M funding, Seed Media board advisor
George Church: Harvard genetics, lab investment pitch, PGP founder
Martin Nowak: Harvard evolutionary dynamics, 5 flights, Epstein office 9 years
Boris Nikolic: Gates advisor, 1,836 emails, backup executor, NSA contacts
Ben Goertzel: Novamente LLC, AGI/genomics intersection
The critical analytical finding: STC's 2012 EDC application explicitly planned DNA retail services via internet through third-party providers -- identical to the 23andMe model used five years later. Novamente's SNP analysis software was purpose-built to process the exact data format 23andMe kits generate. Infrastructure preceded collection by 2-3 years. The program was not improvised; it was architected.
This investigation draws from sources of varying reliability. Clear labeling prevents conflation.
PRIMARY SOURCE (Grade A1/A2 -- DOJ/EFTA corpus):
JOURNALISM (Grade B/C -- reporting, unverified in corpus):
EXTERNAL REPORTING (Grade B -- established media):
WHAT THIS SHOWS AND DOES NOT SHOW: The primary source evidence (Grade A1/A2) is sufficient on its own to establish that STC planned a DNA retail business, funded SNP analysis software, and that Epstein pursued personal genomics and VIP DNA kit distribution. The journalism-sourced claims (genome Manhattan Project, NSA codebreakers, Skolkovo) provide context but cannot be independently verified from the EFTA corpus. Readers should weigh these evidence tiers differently.
The DNA program did not operate in isolation. It was embedded in a broader network of scientific relationships documented across multiple dossier series.
James Watson -- Nobel laureate, co-discoverer of DNA's double helix structure, first director of the Human Genome Project, head of Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory. FBI FD-302 (HOUSE_OVERSIGHT_021434) confirms Epstein funded approximately 150 scientists including Watson. Watson received an estimated $15-30M channeled to Harvard. Watson served as board advisor to Seed Media Group, an Epstein-controlled entity (see LSJ-09). An unresolved lead: "J. Watson" appears at a Lauder lunch (EFTA02328468) -- if this is James Watson, it connects the DNA program to the Mega Group network (see GOY-03).
George Church -- Harvard genetics pioneer, founder of Personal Genome Project, co-founder of Editas Medicine (CRISPR), eGenesis (synthetic organs), Nebula Genomics. 30 Neo4j relationships, 40 jmail emails, 51 DugganUSA documents. February 17, 2018: Church at 1pm in Epstein's schedule, followed by sequential meetings with MIT researchers. Church received $686K from Epstein's foundation (2005-2007). Church introduced Epstein to Thakuria.
Martin Nowak -- Harvard Program for Evolutionary Dynamics (PED), funded by $6.5M Epstein donation. 5 documented flights on Epstein aircraft. Epstein maintained a personal office in Nowak's lab for 9 years post-conviction, visiting 40+ times. PED permanently closed. Nowak's field -- evolutionary dynamics and mathematical biology -- is directly adjacent to genomic research.
Boris Nikolic -- Former Gates science advisor (2007-2014), co-founder Biomatics Capital (CRISPR investments). 1,836 jmail emails. Named sole successor executor. Confirmed NSA contacts for biological encryption (DropSite News, Grade B). Invested in Editas Medicine (board member), eGenesis, ResearchGate. The connective tissue between Gates, Epstein, Church, CRISPR gene editing, and potentially NSA cryptographic capabilities.
Ben Goertzel -- Novamente LLC founder, AGI researcher. Invoiced STC $30K for SNP/gene expression analysis software. The only documented individual who provided actual DNA-related technical services to STC.
Joe Thakuria -- MGH physician, Harvard genomics. Conducted Epstein's dual exome sequencing, proposed the Venus Project ($193,400 for genome sequencing and CRISPR cell editing, CNN 2026). Retained Epstein's biological material.
Aziza Alahmadi -- Named DNA kit recipient (May 2017). Confirmed receipt to Groff, forwarded to Epstein.
Institutional infrastructure: Edge Foundation (74% Epstein revenue, connected Epstein to 33 billionaires), MIT Media Lab ($850K post-conviction), Enhanced Education (USVI), Harvard PGP, Seed Media Group (Watson board advisor, Maxwell board member).
WHAT THIS SHOWS AND DOES NOT SHOW: The science network establishes that Epstein's DNA program was supported by relationships with leading figures in genetics (Church, Watson), evolutionary biology (Nowak), AI/genomics (Goertzel), and biomedical investment (Nikolic). These relationships provided expertise, institutional access, and credibility. This does NOT establish that all members of this network were aware of or participated in STC's DNA program. Many of these relationships were presented as philanthropy. Individual knowledge and intent cannot be inferred from network proximity.
The "big data algorithm" email remains relevant context (EFTA01942695, January 19, 2014): Epstein to Ariane de Rothschild: "always fun conversation. can you have someone send the info on the big data algorithm?" -- 3 months after the EDC certificate, 21 months before the $25M Rothschild agreement. This language is consistent with the certificate's "data-mining platform for databases" description. Epstein was discussing algorithms with the person whose bank would later pay $25M for "algorithm-related services" through the entity whose tax exemption covered "DNA database" work.
23andMe Bankruptcy and the VIP Data: 23andMe filed for bankruptcy in March 2025. TTAM Research Institute (Anne Wojcicki) acquired the company for $305M in June 2025, pledging to maintain existing privacy policies. The fate of DNA data from Epstein's VIP recipients -- collected through 23andMe's platform -- is now subject to TTAM's stewardship. A 2023 data breach had already exposed 7 million users' profiles, with targeting of Jewish and Chinese profiles specifically.
[GRADE A1/A2 -- 179 Neo4j queries, 2,539 rows, 40 null results across 10 tiers. All findings below are primary-source EFTA/jmail evidence.]
The v3.0 master detective pass investigated 7 open leads from v2.0 using the full Neo4j graph (5.37M nodes, 4.96M relationships). This section documents the resolution of each lead.
[GRADE A2 -- EFTA02205384, EFTA02205282, EFTA02204841, EFTA02204812, EFTA02205292 (jmail scheduling chain)]
The "J. Watson" at the Lauder lunch is definitively Nobel laureate James D. Watson, co-discoverer of DNA's double helix structure and first director of the Human Genome Project.
The scheduling chain (February 22-24, 2017):
The museum tour follow-up (March 2017):
Watson lunched with Epstein and Lauder on Feb 24, 2017 -- three weeks before the Geneva DNA kit shipments (March 20, 2017) and three months before the 30-kit bulk order (June 8, 2017). The timing places the world's most famous DNA scientist at Epstein's table during the kit distribution planning window.
HOUSE_OVERSIGHT confirmation: FBI FD-302 (HOUSE_OVERSIGHT_021434, Aug 23, 2007): Epstein funded approximately 150 scientists including "John Watson, co-founder of DNA" with an estimated $15-30M channeled to Harvard. Watson served as board advisor to Seed Media Group, an Epstein-controlled entity. The House Oversight investigation also examined the Goertzel/Epstein relationship (HOUSE_OVERSIGHT_012899, HOUSE_OVERSIGHT_016221).
WHAT THIS SHOWS AND DOES NOT SHOW: Watson's identity is confirmed beyond doubt. His Feb 24, 2017 lunch with Epstein occurred during the DNA kit distribution planning window. This does NOT establish that Watson was aware of or participated in STC's DNA collection program. Watson was 89 years old in 2017 and had been associated with Epstein since the 1980s through scientific philanthropy channels. The lunch may have been social rather than programmatic.

The v3.0 mining resolved the Dubai delivery chain and identified several new recipients.
The Mohamad Maktoum handoff:
The parallel 60-kit pipeline:
Newly confirmed kit recipients (v3.0):
| Recipient | Evidence | Date | Source |
|---|---|---|---|
| Mohamad Maktoum | Final Dubai handoff via Emirates JFK | Jun 2017 | EFTA02214127 |
| "Shaikh Mohammed" | 30 AncestryDNA kits ordered by Sultan | May 22, 2017 | EFTA02649693 |
| Karyna Shuliak | 23andMe ancestry report received | Jun 10, 2017 | EFTA02324678 |
| "Jabor" | Registered by Shuliak using her email | May 6, 2017 | EFTA02324345 |
| Valeria Chomsky | "Jeffrey would like us to send you and Noam some kits" | Apr 15, 2017 | EFTA02328491 |
| Leon Black (proposed) | Attia: "send another kit, for Leon Black" | Jun 2015 | EFTA02499139 |
Peter Attia health testing connection:
Updated recipient table (v3.0):
| Recipient | Role | Kit Details | Source |
|---|---|---|---|
| Ariane de Rothschild | CEO, Edmond de Rothschild Group | 4x 23andMe to Geneva (Mar 2017) | EFTA02657180 |
| Mohamad Maktoum | Dubai ruling family | 30x 23andMe via Emirates JFK | EFTA02214127 |
| "Shaikh Mohammed" | Ruler of Dubai (Sultan's order) | 30x AncestryDNA via Epstein's house | EFTA02649693 |
| Sultan bin Sulayem | Chairman, DP World | Ordered both batches; Jim Miller PA | EFTA02216142 |
| Aziza Alahmadi | Associate | 1x 23andMe, confirmed receipt May 2017 | EFTA02212965 |
| Woody Allen | Film director | Kit recipient | 23andMe records |
| Soon-Yi Previn | Allen's wife | Kit recipient | 23andMe records |
| Noam Chomsky | Linguist/MIT professor | Kits via Valeria, Apr 2017 | EFTA02328491 |
| Valeria Wasserman Chomsky | Chomsky's wife | Direct contact for kit delivery | EFTA02328491 |
| Karyna Shuliak | Epstein associate | Report received Jun 10, 2017 | EFTA02324678 |
| "Jabor" | Shuliak's relative | Registered by Shuliak | EFTA02324345 |
| Leon Black (proposed) | Apollo chairman, $140M+ to STC | Via Peter Attia health protocol | EFTA02499139 |
WHAT THIS SHOWS AND DOES NOT SHOW: The kit recipient resolution dramatically expands the scope: not ~30 kits to unnamed VIPs, but a 60-kit pipeline (30 23andMe + 30 AncestryDNA) flowing through Epstein's address to Dubai's ruling elite, plus 4 kits to the Rothschild banking dynasty in Geneva, plus individual kits to MIT academics, Hollywood figures, and Epstein's financial network. The Maktoum handoff via Emirates at JFK represents organized logistics. This does NOT establish that Epstein retained or analyzed the DNA data -- these were consumer kits processed by 23andMe/AncestryDNA labs. However, the coordination through Epstein's address, the use of his Amex, and the geographic circumvention (UAE blocked on 23andMe website) suggest more than casual gift-giving.
[GRADE A1 -- EFTA01191403, EFTA01361262 (invoice chain, wire records)]
The v3.0 mining recovered the full Novamente invoice chain context.
Richard Kahn's email to Epstein (EFTA01191403, Feb 2015): "should I send 30,000 from STC to Ben now or wait until we receive servers and can receive software (estimated 2-3 weeks) please advise"
This single sentence establishes three critical facts:
Kahn's original request to Goertzel: "can you please send an invoice via email for Algorithm DNA database management to: Southern Trust Company Inc., 6100 Red Hook Quarter, B3, St. Thomas, USVI 00802"
The invoice language -- "Algorithm DNA database management" -- directly mirrors the EDC certificate's authorized business description. The USVI address confirms STC was the contracting entity.
The Novamente file name: "Novamente_Epstein_Invoice_Forian_2015.pdf" -- "Forian" is an unexplained project name that may identify the specific DNA analysis software build.
Two STC-to-Novamente payments confirmed:
Post-2015 black hole confirmed: Zero Novamente LLC documents appear in the corpus after February 2015. Goertzel's work continued under OpenCog (open-source AGI framework). No deployment records, results, or ongoing maintenance documents exist.
Goertzel in House Oversight: Three House Oversight Committee documents reference the Goertzel-Epstein relationship (HOUSE_OVERSIGHT_012899, HOUSE_OVERSIGHT_016221, HOUSE_OVERSIGHT_016804) -- Congress investigated this connection.
WHAT THIS SHOWS AND DOES NOT SHOW: The Novamente contract was not just a software purchase -- it was a server-dependent deployment of DNA database management software at the STC USVI address. Kahn's "wait until we receive servers" email directly addresses Unanswered Question #13 about USVI servers. STC was acquiring hardware. This does NOT establish that the servers were actually received, that the software was deployed, or that any DNA data was ever processed. The post-2015 documentary blackout leaves the deployment status unresolved.
[GRADE A1/A2 -- EFTA00310331, EFTA01939206, EFTA01942695 (agreement text, email chain)]
The "Shlomo" identification: Ariane de Rothschild's reply to Epstein's "big data algorithm" request (EFTA01939206, Jan 19, 2014, 5:25 PM): "Yes I'll ask Shlomo to send it to me." This identifies "Shlomo" as the Rothschild-side technical contact who held the algorithm documentation.
The $25M agreement structure (EFTA00310331, September 2015):
The agreement connects: the January 2014 "algorithm" email -> the "Shlomo" technical contact -> the September 2015 formal agreement describing "algorithm application services" -> the March 2017 Geneva DNA kit delivery to Ariane herself. The DNA kits to the person whose bank was paying STC $25M represent a parallel personal-level engagement running alongside the financial advisory relationship.
[GRADE A1 -- EFTA01190848, EFTA00639570, jmail genome funding email (2006)]
Enrolled PGP participant (2015-2017):
The 2006 origin: jmail email (Jun 24, 2006): Epstein to [unknown], subject "Re: Grosof: Genetic basis of beauty": "I am going to fund the personal genome project at Harvard. Questions: does the beauty reside in the genome?"
This pushes the DNA program origin back to 2006 -- five years before STC was incorporated, six years before the EDC application. Epstein's interest in genomics and his intent to fund the Harvard PGP predated the entire USVI legal/tax architecture.
Thakuria's dual pricing (EFTA02103851):
[GRADE A2 -- EFTA00725199, EFTA01088764, EFTA00608274 (marketing materials)]
The v3.0 mining clarifies the Bode Technology materials as investment pitch documents for Bode Technology as part of GlobalOptions Group, not service contracts or laboratory work orders.
EFTA00725199 is a corporate overview describing Bode as:
No emails, invoices, or contracts link STC or Epstein to Bode Technology as a customer. No financial transactions to Bode appear in the graph. The materials represent potential investment interest in a forensic DNA company, consistent with Epstein's broader genomics portfolio interest (Editas, eGenesis, Novamente, Catalog).
[GRADE A2 -- EFTA02515807 (email with linked articles)]
The DNA storage company is Catalog (catalog.bio):
Bryan Bishop connection: Jeremy Rubin to Epstein (EFTA01005704, Jul 20, 2018): referencing Bryan Bishop who "does a mix of Bitcoin things and DNA data storage." Bishop contacted Epstein around the same time as the Drokova email, working on similar DNA-based data storage technology.
Drokova's broader role: Drokova connected Epstein with Bryan Johnson (Kernel, neural implants), scheduled multiple NY visits in 2017-2018, and appeared alongside Benny Shabtai in Tel Aviv Skype calls. She functioned as a technology deal-flow channel linking Epstein to AI, genomics, and neuroscience startups.
[GRADE A1 -- EFTA00584573 (Enhanced Education receipt)]
EFTA00584573 (Dec 2014): Enhanced Education, 6100 Red Hook Quarter, B3, St. Thomas, USVI 00802 -- receipt for $10,500,000 from Leon D. Black as "unrestricted charitable contribution."
Enhanced Education operated at the same physical address as STC (6100 Red Hook Quarter B3). Darren Indyke confirmed: "Enhanced Education is the trade name of the foundation." Leon Black gave $10.5M to this USVI foundation in December 2014 -- the same period STC was funding Novamente's DNA software and negotiating the Rothschild agreement.

STC was a shell entity with no documented real services. The USVI court finding of "no real services" is corroborated by the corpus: zero DNA database transactions, zero biomedical informatics transactions, and a 46-116x KYC asset understatement. The 87.7% net margin on $16M H1 revenue indicates minimal operating costs.
The VIEDC tax exemption was obtained using fictitious business descriptions. STC's EDC certificate described "DNA database" and "biomedical informatics" activities that do not appear anywhere in the documented financial record. The language was personally negotiated by Kellerhals with EDC approval.
Epstein maintained direct operational control despite the corporate layering. The TRS authorization chain (Epstein → Kahn → Indyke → Deutsche Bank) required Epstein's personal monthly approval for routine swap payments. The sole-shareholder KYC designation, combined with the signatory triad structure, made STC a personal financial instrument rather than an independent entity.
The Kellerhals wire flows are disproportionate. $20M+ in documented wires to STC's own attorney's firm — including multi-layer routing through Haze Trust → Epstein personal → Kellerhals Trust Account — exceeds typical legal fee arrangements by orders of magnitude.
The cleanup pattern is temporally compressed. Document deletion instructions (March 2019), bond liquidation (February 2019), and account closures (March-May 2019) cluster in the five months before Epstein's July 2019 arrest. Whether this timing reflects awareness of imminent prosecution or response to banking relationship pressure is unresolved.
STC was simultaneously a consulting company, investment vehicle, derivatives brokerage, loan disbursement vehicle, and check-routing intermediary. No single entity legitimately performs all five functions while claiming to operate a DNA database.
[V2.0] The EDC certificate "DNA database" language described an actual program, not a fiction. STC's 2012 EDC application explicitly declared a DNA retail services business via third-party internet providers (EFTA01100131) -- identical to the 23andMe model used five years later. STC funded Novamente's SNP analysis software ($30K, EFTA01191403) purpose-built to process 23andMe output data. Epstein ordered 30 23andMe kits ($6,084.95) for VIP associates including Ariane de Rothschild (same person whose bank paid STC $25M). The "no real services" finding is simultaneously correct (no consulting was provided for fees) and incomplete (the DNA program was real).
[V2.0] STC's 2012 EDC application explicitly planned DNA retail services via third-party internet providers -- identical to the 23andMe model used 5 years later. The application (EFTA01100131) states: "retailing of DNA services to individual consumers will take place via the Internet. All DNA testing services will be provided by third party providers." This establishes the DNA business description was a declared plan with five-year revenue projections, not random technical-sounding language.
[V2.0] Novamente's SNP analysis software was purpose-built to process 23andMe output data, and was funded through STC 2-3 years before the kits were ordered. The $30K contract (EFTA01191403) specified "Machine Learning and automated reasoning Technology for analyzing gene expression and SNP data" -- the exact data format 23andMe consumer kits generate. Infrastructure preceded collection, consistent with a planned program.
[V2.0] Boris Nikolic met Epstein on the exact day (October 4, 2013) the EDC approved the "DNA database" certificate -- a date coincidence connecting Gates' biomedical advisor to the DNA program's legal founding. Nikolic's specific expertise (biomedical genomics, CRISPR investment, NSA contacts) aligns precisely with the certificate's "DNA database" and "biomedical informatics" language. This is analytically significant but not probative (Grade D inference).
[V3.0] "J. Watson" at the Lauder lunch is definitively James D. Watson -- Nobel laureate, DNA double helix co-discoverer. Confirmed by email subject line "James D. Watson" (EFTA02205384), his assistant "Maureen" (EFTA02205282), and Cold Spring Harbor Lab context. Watson lunched with Epstein and Ronald Lauder on Feb 24, 2017 -- three weeks before the Geneva DNA kit shipments.
[V3.0] The DNA kit distribution was a 60-kit pipeline, not 30. Sultan ordered 30 AncestryDNA kits "for Shaikh Mohammed" (EFTA02649693) in addition to the 30 23andMe kits. The final Dubai recipient was "Mohamad Maktoum" (EFTA02214127), connecting the DNA collection campaign to Dubai's ruling family.
[V3.0] STC was acquiring physical servers for the Novamente DNA software deployment. Kahn to Epstein: "should I send 30,000 from STC to Ben now or wait until we receive servers and can receive software?" (EFTA01191403). The servers were intended for the USVI location described in the EDC certificate.
[V3.0] Epstein's DNA program interest dates to 2006, five years before STC. jmail (Jun 24, 2006): "I am going to fund the personal genome project at Harvard." He was an enrolled Harvard PGP participant from 2015 through at least July 2017 (EFTA01190848, EFTA00639570).
[V3.0] Peter Attia proposed sending a health kit "for Leon Black" through Epstein (EFTA02499139, Jun 2015), framing it as getting Black "in front of the masters of the universe." Black was simultaneously paying STC $140M+.
[V3.0] Enhanced Education -- at the same USVI address as STC -- received $10.5M from Leon Black in December 2014 (EFTA00584573). Indyke confirmed it was "the trade name of the foundation." This means Black was paying both STC ($140M+ in consulting fees) and its co-located foundation ($10.5M in charitable donations).
What specific "DNA database" or "biomedical informatics" work, if any, was performed? -- SUBSTANTIALLY ANSWERED (v2.0): The 2012 EDC application (EFTA01100131) explicitly planned DNA retail services via third-party internet providers. Novamente's $30K SNP analysis software (EFTA01191403) was funded through STC in 2014-2015. Epstein underwent personal genome sequencing through Harvard. 30 23andMe kits were ordered for VIPs in 2017. The question shifts from "did any DNA work exist?" to "what happened to the Novamente software output and the collected DNA data?" -- Status: SUBSTANTIALLY ANSWERED (v2.0)
What was the $20M Kellerhals "big deal closing"? — JJ Litchford's Deutsche Bank alert describes this as a deal closing, not a legal fee. What transaction required $20M to flow through STC to its own attorney's trust account? — Status: OPEN
What were the Sberbank Irkutsk wire details? — A wire from a USVI DNA database company to a Russian state bank in Siberia has no apparent business justification in the declared activity set. Amount, date, and purpose are undocumented in available sources. — Status: OPEN
Who authorized the VIEDC compliance clearance in November 2018? — STC was certified as compliant through 2017 despite its activities bearing no relationship to its EDC certificate description. Did the compliance review examine actual business activities or only administrative requirements? — Status: OPEN
What is Cecile de Jongh's full role? — She approved the EDC certificate language revision as Governor, later appeared as "Office Manager" at STC's address, forwarded compliance requests to Epstein, and coordinated conference attendance. Was she an employee of STC while serving in government? — Status: OPEN
What did the "Will delete" instruction actually delete? — EFTA02637769 contains Indyke's instruction but does not specify what would be deleted. The document references Truth Robot LLC. Were documents destroyed? If so, which ones? — Status: OPEN
What were the full terms of the $105M USVI settlement? — The settlement amount is public. Were there admissions of fact? Ongoing compliance obligations? Personal liability for signatories? — Status: OPEN
[V1.1] What was the genome "Manhattan Project" and how did it connect to STC? — DropSite News reported Epstein recruited NSA codebreakers for a genome project connected to Skolkovo (Russia), Bill Gates, and MIT. Was this program funded through STC? Was the 23andMe kit distribution a data-gathering component of this initiative? Boris Nikolic (Gates advisor, Epstein estate backup executor) is a potential link between the Gates/MIT funding channels and the genome program. — Status: OPEN (v1.1)
[V1.1] What happened to the VIP DNA data after 23andMe's bankruptcy? -- 23andMe filed for bankruptcy in March 2025. TTAM Research Institute (Anne Wojcicki) acquired the company for $305M in June 2025. DNA data from Epstein's VIP recipients is now subject to TTAM's stewardship. A 2023 data breach exposed 7 million profiles with targeting of Jewish and Chinese profiles. -- Status: PARTIALLY ANSWERED (v2.0)
[V2.0] What happened to the Novamente DNA analysis software? Is it still operational? Where are the processed results? -- PARTIALLY ANSWERED (v3.0): Kahn's email reveals the software deployment was contingent on server receipt: "wait until we receive servers and can receive software." STC was acquiring physical servers for the USVI address. The post-2015 documentary blackout remains -- no deployment records, results, or maintenance documents exist. Goertzel's work pivoted to OpenCog. Congress investigated the Goertzel-Epstein relationship (3 House Oversight documents). -- Status: PARTIALLY ANSWERED (v3.0)
[V2.0] Was Boris Nikolic's October 4, 2013 meeting related to the DNA certificate approval, or coincidental? -- Nikolic met Epstein on the exact day the EDC approved the "DNA database" certificate language. Nikolic's expertise (biomedical genomics, Gates advisory, NSA contacts) aligns precisely with the certificate's language. No document explicitly connects the meeting to the certificate. -- Status: OPEN (v2.0)
[V2.0] Who are the unidentified recipients among the 30 kits? -- SUBSTANTIALLY ANSWERED (v3.0): The 30 23andMe kits were all listed under "Sultan Binsulayem" and destined for "Mohamad Maktoum" via Emirates at JFK -- likely the Dubai ruling family circle. Sultan separately ordered 30 AncestryDNA kits "for Shaikh Mohammed." The pipeline was 60 kits total, not 30. Additional confirmed recipients: Karyna Shuliak, Valeria Chomsky (with Noam), "Jabor" (registered by Shuliak). Leon Black was a proposed kit recipient via Peter Attia. The remaining individuals were likely the Dubai/UAE elite around Sultan and Sheikh Mohammed. -- Status: SUBSTANTIALLY ANSWERED (v3.0)
[V2.0] Did Epstein actually provision USVI servers as described in the EDC certificate? -- PARTIALLY ANSWERED (v3.0): Kahn's Feb 2015 email ("wait until we receive servers and can receive software") proves STC was acquiring physical servers, with payment to Novamente contingent on server receipt. No specific vendor, IP address, or hosting provider was identified. The USVI server language was not purely regulatory -- STC was actually attempting to provision infrastructure. Whether servers were received and deployed remains unknown. -- Status: PARTIALLY ANSWERED (v3.0)
[V3.0] Who is "Shlomo" in the Rothschild algorithm chain? -- Ariane replied to Epstein's "big data algorithm" request: "Yes I'll ask Shlomo to send it to me" (EFTA01939206). Shlomo held the algorithm documentation on the Rothschild side. Full identity is unknown. -- Status: OPEN (v3.0)
[V3.0] What was the "Forian" project? -- The Novamente invoice filename was "Novamente_Epstein_Invoice_Forian_2015.pdf." "Forian" may be a project name for the DNA analysis software build. No other documents reference this term. -- Status: OPEN (v3.0)
[V3.0] Did Peter Attia actually send a kit for Leon Black? -- Attia proposed sending "kit and stuff" for Leon Black through Epstein's house in June 2015 (EFTA02499139). No confirmation of delivery or Black's participation appears in the corpus. If confirmed, this would mean Epstein collected DNA/health data from the person paying STC $140M+. -- Status: OPEN (v3.0)
