Many legs are parts of multi-city itineraries (Paris->London->Bangor, Tangier->London->Bangor, Milan->London->Westchester). The typical pattern: arrive from a European city, spend 1-4 days, depart for the US or another European destination.
WHAT THIS SHOWS AND DOES NOT SHOW: Flight patterns confirm systematic European travel routed through London across a decade. The 2002 peak coincides with the Boeing 727 deployment. London served primarily as a transit hub connecting European and transatlantic routes.
