¶ PART 11: YONI KOREN AND INTELLIGENCE PERSONNEL
[GRADE A1 — DOJ 2026 releases]
¶ The AMAN Officer
Yoni Koren was an Israeli AMAN (military intelligence — Agaf HaModi'in) officer with decades of covert operations experience. The 2024-2026 DOJ releases revealed:
- February 2013: Koren stayed at Epstein's Manhattan apartment while serving as senior aide to Defense Minister Ehud Barak
- October 2014: Two-week stay at the apartment
- September 2015: Ten-day stay at the apartment
- 2012: Epstein paid for Koren's cancer treatment
- Communications: Barak-Koren communications contained what investigators described as "coded language perhaps referring to dead drops of information" in New York City
- Status: Koren remained a lieutenant colonel in reserve duty until his death in 2023
The three apartment stays over 32 months (February 2013 to September 2015) establish a sustained presence of Israeli military intelligence personnel at Epstein's residence — not a single visit but a recurring pattern.
¶ The FBI Informant Document
[GRADE A1 (document) / Source compromised — FBI LA field office memo, October 2020]
An October 2020 FBI Los Angeles field office document records a confidential informant claiming:
- Epstein was a "co-opted Mossad Agent" who had been "trained as a spy" under Barak
- The informant recalled Dershowitz told US Attorney Alexander Acosta "that Epstein belonged to both U.S. and allied intelligence services"
- "Mossad would then call Dershowitz to debrief"
CRITICAL CAVEAT: Investigative journalism subsequently identified the informant as Charles C. Johnson, a conservative provocateur who was found liable for civil racketeering ($40 million judgment) and is a Holocaust denier. This severely undermines the credibility of the informant's claims. However, Johnson had previously provided accurate information — he identified Peter Thiel as an FBI informant, which was confirmed in 2023. The document's existence as an FBI field office record is Grade A1; the content's reliability is unverified.
¶ The Mossad Joke

On December 17, 2018 — six months before Epstein's July 2019 arrest — Barak sent Epstein an email: "unfortunately, not. you should make clear that i dont work for mossad. 
"
This email exists in three copies in the jmail corpus. It is the only Mossad reference in the jmail archive beyond a February 17, 2010 forwarded Haaretz article about the Mossad chief after the Dubai assassination. The sardonic tone ("smiley face") and the specific denial ("i dont work for mossad") indicate that the Mossad-connection question was part of the Barak-Epstein social context — familiar enough to joke about.
¶ Counterevidence
[GRADE A1 — FBI/DOJ memo, July 2025]
A July 2025 FBI/DOJ memo found "no evidence" of blackmail or intelligence connections. Additionally, Alexander Acosta denied under oath (September 2025) ever making the "belonged to intelligence" statement attributed to him. These counter-findings are documented in GOY-06 v3.0 and represent direct contradictions to the intelligence hypothesis.
¶ ANALYSIS
The Koren finding establishes documented Israeli military intelligence presence at Epstein's residence. The FBI informant document alleges Mossad co-option but from a severely compromised source. The Mossad joke email indicates the topic was socially relevant in the Barak-Epstein relationship. The July 2025 FBI/DOJ counter-memo and Acosta denial represent direct evidence against the intelligence hypothesis. The pattern is suggestive but not conclusive; the intelligence hypothesis remains Grade D — inference.
WHAT THIS SHOWS AND DOES NOT SHOW: An Israeli AMAN officer stayed at Epstein's apartment multiple times. An FBI document records intelligence co-option claims from a compromised source. Barak joked about not working for Mossad. A separate FBI/DOJ memo found no evidence of intelligence connections. This establishes intelligence personnel presence in Epstein's environment while the intelligence hypothesis itself remains unverified and directly contradicted by other evidence.
