[GRADE A2 — EFTA02655872, EFTA02653970 (Epstein-Karp correspondence)]
On March 29, 2017, Epstein emailed Brad Karp: "yesterday after telling him to be careful regarding new situations I received a with guzel it was you and Karp that were out of control - not me!!!" Karp replied: "Oh dear" (EFTA02653970). Epstein continued: "and when you get a moment we can review the papers I sent to you. he also told me that okun's version of my conversation with okun is different. I put it in quotes for a reason" — suggesting disputed conversations with a person named Okun.
A separate email from the same date (EFTA02655872) contains Epstein telling Karp directly about the Guzel situation. Fulltext mining for "Nardello" (the investigation firm Nardello & Co.) returned 30 hits, consistent with Bloomberg's reporting that Brad Karp coordinated private investigators including license plate surveillance of Ganieva.
WHAT THIS SHOWS AND DOES NOT SHOW: The emails establish Epstein and Karp in direct coordination regarding the Ganieva situation. Karp's "Oh dear" response suggests awareness but perhaps concern about the direction of events. The reference to "papers I sent to you" indicates Karp was reviewing documents related to the operation. It does NOT specify what actions Karp took or authorized beyond communication.
