¶ PART 7: EPSTEIN'S EYE -- RICH KAHN AND DUE DILIGENCE
[GRADE A2 -- EFTA00879081, EFTA02411684, EFTA01156109 (seized emails)]
Rich Kahn, through HBRK Associates Inc., appears in the documents as Epstein's financial due diligence agent for the Seed Media/Innovium investment.
- EFTA00879081 (Jan 5, 2011): Kahn writes to Epstein: "no trust or confidence in Adam" -- contesting the $20M valuation proposed by Bly
- EFTA02411684 (Nov 23, 2010): due diligence conflict -- Adam Bly resists Kahn communicating directly with Walnut Private Equity, a co-investor
- EFTA01156109 (Jan 12, 2011): Kahn forwards to Epstein Jamie Macintosh's assessment of Bly: "brilliant but should not be running anything"
¶ Kahn's Expanded Profile
Public records and court proceedings identify Richard D. Kahn not as a simple consultant, but as a central player in Epstein's financial infrastructure:
- Co-executor (with Darren Indyke) of Epstein's estate (~$210M)
- HBRK Associates Inc. = "Harry Beller and Richard Kahn" -- held accounts at Deutsche Bank and JPMorgan Chase with Kahn as the sole authorized signatory
- The U.S. Virgin Islands Attorney General described Kahn and Indyke as "indispensable captains" of Epstein's operation
- 1,687 documents containing "HBRK" in the DugganUSA corpus (the most frequently referenced organizational entity in the domestic infrastructure -- see MOL-08)
- Kahn and Indyke settled litigation alleging facilitation of Epstein's trafficking network
- [v2.1] HBRK EQUITY LTD. -- ICIJ offshore entity (BVI, Panama Papers), incorporated 01/28/2002, dissolved 07/22/2003, linked to Hong Kong
- [v2.1] The Neo4j graph confirms that HBRK Associates Inc. is connected to Southern Trust Company Inc. with sub-accounts named JEGE, Neptune Red, Plan D, Zorro -- Epstein's central financial vehicles. The documented transaction Darren K. Indyke -> HBRK: $332,622.83 confirms direct financial flows between the co-executor and HBRK
Knowledge graph analysis confirms that Richard Kahn appears in a CO_APPEARED_WITH relationship with Adam Bly via the indexofepstein dataset. Darren Indyke maintains the same relationship -- connecting both co-executors of Epstein's estate to Bly in the graph.
- Congressional subpoena: Kahn was subpoenaed by the House Oversight Committee, with testimony scheduled for February 25, 2026
- Senate pressure (Dec 17, 2025): Senator Wyden led Democrats demanding to know why DOJ never questioned Epstein's core trafficking henchmen -- Kahn and Indyke named specifically
- Bank of America class action (Oct 2025): Names HBRK in connection with Epstein's sex trafficking network and shell company operations
- HBRK operational detail: Offices at 301 E. 66th Street doubled as victim housing and cash storage. HBRK guaranteed a credit line to MC2 (Epstein-linked modeling agency) via a Spanish entity, later transferred to Jean-Luc Brunel
WHAT THIS SHOWS AND DOES NOT SHOW: The documents show that Kahn performed due diligence on Seed Media/Innovium on behalf of Epstein. The fact that this due diligence went through the same financial infrastructure (HBRK Associates) later described as having facilitated Epstein's trafficking operations does not mean that the Seed Media due diligence was itself linked to trafficking. The significance lies in the fact that the Seed Media investment was processed through the same channels as all of Epstein's other financial operations. Kahn and Indyke denied any knowledge of Epstein's abuse. The February 2026 congressional testimony may yield new information about HBRK's role in the Seed Media/Innovium investment.
