On February 19, 2014, an email (EFTA02294135) was sent to Reid Hoffman with the subject line: "Vancouver -> Island." Recipients included Hoffman, "Elaaida," "Sapieva," and "Mark" — indicating this was a multi-person travel coordination, not a private communication.
On March 6, 2014, Epstein wrote to Hoffman (EFTA01931991): "yes, come to ranch on friday after joi talk, its in santa fc, this way, no long trips for you guys." This invitation to Zorro Ranch in Santa Fe, referencing a Joi Ito speaking engagement, demonstrates Hoffman's integration into the Epstein–Ito travel circuit spanning multiple properties.
On March 17, 2014, a schedule email (EFTA01931221) documented: "Mon. March 17, 2014 RANCH-VANCOUVER. Reminder: Joi Ito staying at the [Fairmont]" with "Reid across the street" — placing Hoffman in Vancouver simultaneously with Epstein and Ito. The email was sent from Epstein to Larry Visoski and Lesley Groff, confirming operational coordination.
On March 22, 2014, Hoffman wrote to Epstein (EFTA01929009): "RE: that doesn't count as food. " — a light exchange that documents the informal, personal nature of the relationship during the Vancouver period. DugganUSA search D9 returned this email in the "Bill Gates + Hoffman/Reid" campaign, suggesting Gates may have been referenced in the thread context.
A Google Calendar entry (EFTA01930025, March 23, 2014) reads: "reid hoffman cg Sun Mar 23" — placing Hoffman in Epstein's calendar one day after the Vancouver stay. The "cg" abbreviation remains unresolved but may indicate a location or meeting type.
Fairmont Waterfront Vancouver appears in 6 DugganUSA hits with Epstein. Additional emails (EFTA00335380, EFTA00335486, EFTA00335542) document a "Contract for Fairmont Waterfront Vancouver" coordinated between Lesley Groff, Rich Kahn, and Epstein in November 2015 — indicating a sustained institutional relationship with the venue extending beyond the March 2014 trip.
The Vancouver trip was preceded by sustained contact. On December 19, 2013, Epstein wrote to Hoffman (EFTA01941670): "yes, I am at the ranch from sunday until i pick up woody allen in la on the 27. if you are free on the 26 or 27 i..." — a ranch invitation that also establishes Epstein's social calendar included picking up Woody Allen. On December 24–26, 2013, three emails document "Reid/Joi?" and "Reid/Joi FYI" coordination (jmail-efta02578534, efta02578590, efta02721939), followed by two "Reid Hoffman" scheduling emails on December 26 (jmail-efta02297686, jmail-efta02297620).
WHAT THIS SHOWS AND DOES NOT SHOW: Schedule emails document Hoffman, Ito, and Epstein coordinating simultaneous presence in Vancouver in March 2014, with a planned sequence to Epstein's island and a ranch invitation in Santa Fe. The banter exchange confirms a personal, informal relationship. It does NOT establish that Hoffman traveled to all properties mentioned or that any meetings involved improper conduct. Vancouver meetings may have been solely for MIT fundraising purposes as Hoffman has stated.
