OS-04 identified 79 documents containing "Palantir" in the corpus but analyzed only two. OS-09 mines all 79 through fulltext queries, revealing approximately 33 unique underlying documents after deduplication across source datasets (doj-epstein-files, rhowardstone-corpus, epstein-doc-explorer, house-oversight).
The documents cluster around three periods:
October 2013 (EFTA00675657, EFTA00973554, EFTA00973641, EFTA00974587): Ari Gesher, a Palantir employee, participates in a multi-day email thread with Epstein about "Machine Defense Function" concepts. The thread includes Joscha Bach, Joi Ito (MIT Media Lab), and Kevin Slavin. Epstein engages substantively: "I think the immune system might provide useful insights. Recognizing self, attack..." and "the techniques to break an encryption, wavelet analysis continuous fraction..." This is a direct intellectual exchange between a Palantir employee and Epstein about adversarial intelligence, defense, and cryptanalysis.
January 2014 (EFTA00375972, EFTA00981350): A brainstorming document for a "Symposium on Power" lists potential attendees including Ehud Barak, Larry Summers, Gen. Wesley Clark, George Tenet (former CIA Director, with a question mark), and -- critically -- "Ari Gesher or person Kevin identifies from Palantir." Palantir is listed as a specific organizational target for invitation. Epstein replies: "we should have people who have / had great power... gen clark, mitchell. I would like a fighter. tyson?"
October 27, 2014 (EFTA00664427): Peter Thiel writes directly to Epstein. Epstein has asked about a $100M Spotify investment at $5B valuation and about Palantir. Thiel replies: "I would hold off on doing anything in Spotify at $5B... Somewhat more bullish on Palantir, but I think there is no need to rush. We can discuss later in person." This establishes a direct investment advisory relationship in which Thiel is steering Epstein toward Palantir.
December 15, 2016 (EFTA01059387): David Fiszel (Honeycomb Asset Management) emails Epstein: "Palantir was the only private company invited to yesterday's tech summit. That seems like a huge change post election and bigger oppty." The Trump transition is treated as a Palantir catalyst.
December 16, 2016 (EFTA02666567): Richard Kahn writes to Epstein: "not sure your thoughts on Palantir but if remotely positive then david access to shares seems like a 50% discount to market." Fiszel can buy at $5/share against a $9.5B implied valuation. Bloomberg and Fortune articles attached. The Trump meeting is described as creating "Huge" company value impact.
October 18, 2018 (EFTA02620989, EFTA01019243, EFTA02620875): Epstein forwards a Yahoo Finance article about Palantir weighing an IPO to Kahn. Kahn responds: "crazy valuations for all these privates.. last valuation was 20 billion in Nov 2016." Fiszel adds: "I got plenty [Palantir stock] to go around! I think the reporter is dyslexic. Should be $14B not $41." A PitchBook company profile (EFTA00807234) is generated for Kahn at HBRK Associates, tracking 19 deal rounds from $544M (2012) to $20.5B (2016), listing executives: Alexander Karp (CEO), Peter Thiel (Chairman), Stephen Cohen (co-founder), Joe Lonsdale (co-founder).
November 2018 (EFTA01015996, EFTA00484600): Two investment pipelines converge. Masha Drokova introduces 20-year-old Thiel Fellow Neil Serebryany to Epstein: "Raised money from Pala[ntir] founders... advisors from Washington." Separately, Haydar Haba pitches the Draper Andra Global fund with Tim Draper as co-manager, targeting late-stage companies including Palantir at "very large discount from last rounds."
WHAT THIS SHOWS AND DOES NOT SHOW: The documents establish that Epstein received direct investment advisory on Palantir from Thiel himself, that his financial advisor Kahn was actively tracking Palantir valuation data for investment purposes, and that multiple investment opportunities in Palantir-adjacent vehicles were presented to Epstein across 2014-2018. The documents do NOT establish that Epstein ever purchased Palantir shares. Whether the $5/share offer was executed remains unknown.
