[GRADE B/C -- EFTA00030182, EFTA00090314, DOJ-OGR-00003371, EFTA01116597, EFTA00619355 (DOJ release, DOJ-OGR, rhowardstone corpus)]
Thread 1 -- The Acosta Statement (EFTA00030182, EFTA00076059): A Daily Beast article, forwarded internally within SDNY to US Attorney Geoffrey Berman, reports that Alexander Acosta told his Trump transition interviewers: "I was told Epstein 'belonged to intelligence' and to leave it alone." The article was sent by the Chief of the Public Corruption Unit.
Thread 2 -- The Official Denial (DOJ-OGR-00003371): The DOJ Office of Professional Responsibility report: "OPR found no evidence suggesting that Epstein was such a cooperating witness or 'intelligence asset,' or that anyone -- including any of the subjects of OPR's investigation -- believed that to be the case." When asked about his 2019 press conference equivocation, Acosta told OPR "the answer is no." OPR offered Acosta a classified setting to discuss intelligence information.
Thread 3 -- The FBI CHS Report (EFTA00090314): An FBI FD-1023 Confidential Human Source Reporting Document, dated October 16, 2020, from the Los Angeles Field Office. The CHS states: "Dershowitz told CHS that if he were young again, he would be holding a stun gun as an Israeli Intelligence (Mossad) agent." And: "CHS remembered Dershowitz tell Alex Acosta that Epstein belonged to both U.S. and allied intelligence services." Further: "Epstein was close to the former Prime Minister of Israel, Ehud Barak (Barak) and trained as a spy under him." The same report discusses Masha Drokova -- the same person who introduced Thiel Fellow Serebryany to Epstein in November 2018 -- as having told the CHS "Epstein was a 'wonderful man.'"
January 2016 (EFTA01116597-EFTA01116606): A Reporty Homeland Security corporate presentation lists the founding team:
Lital Leshem's direct career path from Black Cube (the Israeli private intelligence firm hired by Harvey Weinstein to investigate his accusers) to Reporty/Carbyne (the emergency dispatch company funded through Epstein's network) establishes a personnel pipeline between Israeli private intelligence and Israeli surveillance technology companies.
EFTA00619355: An Intelligo Group corporate presentation found in Epstein's files. Intelligo is an Israeli intelligence-based due diligence firm whose advisory board includes "Former head of the Mossad" and "Former head of the Shin Bet" (names redacted). The executive team is composed entirely of former Israeli intelligence officers.
EFTA00037127: David Boies "admitted to making a mistake in hiring Black Cube" in the context of the Weinstein investigation. OS-04 documented Epstein asking Barak whether Boies "got to the mossad guys through you" (EFTA00964912).
WHAT THIS SHOWS AND DOES NOT SHOW: The corpus contains three contradictory narratives about Epstein's intelligence connections: Acosta's reported claim (denied to OPR), the official denial (narrow scope -- cooperation/benefits only), and a CHS report naming Mossad and Barak specifically (unverified informant intelligence). The personnel pipeline from Black Cube to Carbyne is documented. None of this establishes that Epstein was an intelligence asset, that Carbyne is an intelligence front, or that the technology contains backdoors. These are documented questions, not conclusions.
