v1.0 documented Epstein's personal notes listing Thiel alongside intelligence directors (EFTA00642466). v2.0 mines the full corpus for every Keith Alexander, Leon Panetta, David Petraeus, and George Tenet appearance, revealing a clear access gradient from direct contact to complete absence.
January 30, 2013 (EFTA01906305): Epstein to Nili Priell (Barak's associate): "two things, 1. i would like to land and take off at Wash national airport, that will need your security to liase with airport to pre clear the plane in and out, tail number 909 je, 2. if possible to meet panetta, i would like that, but no problem, 3, terje will be in ny afternoon of 16th." Epstein is requesting a Panetta meeting through Barak's Israeli security apparatus, providing his private jet tail number for Washington National Airport clearance.
February 2013 (EFTA01905944): Epstein's "people for bill" dinner guest list: "sen george mitchell, leon panetta, woody allen, ban ki moon, artificial intelligence guys, george church genetics, howard gardner, multiple intelligences, david gergen." Panetta is listed as someone Epstein could invite alongside heads of state and cultural figures.
October 8, 2014 (EFTA02592764): Epstein to Kathy Ruemmler: "panetta at mort zuckerman's tonite. he said that the neg rating was over 60 percent? couldn't keep it in any longer." Epstein and Panetta at the same social event, with Epstein casually reporting Panetta's political commentary to the former White House Counsel.
February 7, 2013 (EFTA00953672): Epstein to Nili Priell: "future coordination with keith alexander and code breaking, used for breaking the dna biological code, would be a topic later for panetta." This single email links Alexander, code-breaking, biological applications, and Panetta in Epstein's own words.
February 7, 2013 (EFTA01903339): Priell replies: "Ehud met with the General in Munich. Fascinating conversation. We will talk about it when we meet." This confirms Barak actually met Alexander ("the General") in Munich and that the coordination Epstein described was not aspirational -- it had already occurred.
No direct Alexander-Epstein email exists in the corpus. The access was mediated through the Barak-Priell channel.
March 2, 2012 (EFTA01842947): Epstein to Boris Nikolic: "I would reallly like to speak to regina at some point. I want to talk to her about signal processing, and its application to biological systems. wavelet anaylsis, elliptical transformations, either her or if you can help arrange through her the NSA guys."
March 2, 2012 (EFTA01843870): Nikolic replies: "No problem. We can and will some time soon. Sorry that it did not work this time." The "some time soon" and "did not work this time" confirm prior failed attempts, and Nikolic's follow-up ("Will tell you more when we talk") suggests sensitive details unsuitable for email.
Petraeus appears only in forwarded content: Edward Jay Epstein (the journalist) sent his Petraeus scandal analysis; Larry Summers forwarded a recommendation. No direct Epstein-Petraeus communication exists in the corpus.
[ANALYSIS] However, web research reveals Petraeus was an angel investor in Carbyne -- the very company Epstein helped fund. And Petraeus served as one of three Palantir advisers alongside Rice and Tenet (Forbes, August 2013). His operational connection to both surveillance tracks is documented through public records even though the Epstein corpus captures only third-party references.
Zero meaningful corpus presence. The former CIA Director who oversaw In-Q-Tel's creation and later served as a Palantir adviser has no documented connection to Epstein in the released files.
WHAT THIS SHOWS AND DOES NOT SHOW: The gradient is clear: Panetta is a direct social contact; Alexander is accessed through the Barak-Priell channel with confirmed in-person meeting; Petraeus is discussed around Epstein but invested in the same company; Tenet is absent. The Barak channel provided Epstein with access to the NSA director and to Panetta (the meeting was requested through Israeli security liaison). This does NOT establish that any intelligence director shared classified information with Epstein or that meetings had improper purposes.
