[GRADE A1 -- DOJ-OGR-00015259 (Federal case filing)]
Kahn was named as Co-Executor of the Estate of Jeffrey E. Epstein alongside Darren K. Indyke (Case 1:20-cv-00484-JKG, Jane Doe v. Indyke & Kahn). His role did not end with Epstein's death.
$35M Settlement (PUBLIC RECORD, February 2026): Indyke and Kahn settled claims designated as Bensky v. Indyke (1:24-cv-01204) before Judge Subramanian. The settlement was paid from estate assets with no factual admissions. The claims alleged "aiding and abetting sex trafficking" and included sham marriage allegations involving three victims.
[GRADE A1 -- FBI Electronic Communication, April 2020]
An FBI Electronic Communication dated April 29, 2020 requested opening an investigation "into the transfer of $15,000,000 by Jeffrey Epstein after his death on 8/10/2019 into his defunct SOUTHERN COUNTRY INTERNATIONAL bank located in the US Virgin Islands."
The EC states: "JEFFREY EPSTEIN, DARREN INDYKE, and RICHARD KAHN were listed as the officers of the business." Southern Country International was originally Financial Strategy Group, Ltd, which "maintained office space in the Port of Sale Mall in Havensite" before being renamed in 2015. The address is described as "a yachting marina dock space with no physical banking space."
The wire arrived the day after Epstein's suicide. The investigation was opened for "possible violations of 18 USC 1032, Concealment of assets from conservator, receiver, or liquidating agent" and was jointly investigated by FBI and IRS Criminal Investigations Division.
Witness Intimidation (BNY Complaint, Paragraph 23): "In 2019, Darren Indyke and Richard Kahn instilled even more fear in Doe when they attempted to contact her through other associates of Epstein, including Lesley Groff and Bella Klein."
Kahn held an @epsteinlaw.com email address and used it for victim compensation fund communications as estate co-executor.
A Florida appellate court characterized Kahn's testimony as "of dubious quality" in proceedings related to the Epstein estate.
WHAT THIS SHOWS AND DOES NOT SHOW: The documents establish that Kahn served as co-executor, settled trafficking-related claims for $35M (paid from estate, no admissions), is alleged to have coerced victims into sham marriages, was a listed officer of Southern Country International when $15M arrived the day after Epstein's death, and is alleged to have participated in witness intimidation. The $15M post-death wire investigation establishes that federal authorities considered Kahn's role in asset concealment serious enough to open a dedicated case. A settlement is NOT an admission of liability.
