On February 9-11, 2026, Reps. Ro Khanna (D-CA) and Thomas Massie (R-KY) visited the DOJ to view unredacted Epstein files. Khanna subsequently read six names on the House floor, including "Leonic Leonov," describing them as "wealthy, powerful men" whose names had been redacted for "no apparent reason."
Within days, the DOJ (Deputy AG Todd Blanche) responded that the latter four names -- including "Leonic Leonov" -- were "completely random people selected years ago for an FBI photo lineup" assembled by SDNY during the investigation. OCCRP and The Guardian confirmed these individuals appeared to be ordinary New Yorkers. "Leonic Leonov" was identified as Leonid Leonov, an IT manager in Queens, who told reporters: "I don't even have a second or third degree connection to him."
By February 13, Khanna walked back four of the six names.

The tipster hypothesized that "Leonic Leonov" is a codename for Zakhar Prilepin (real name: Yevgeny Nikolayevich Prilepin, b. 1975), a Russian nationalist author who wrote a biography of 20th-century Soviet novelist Leonid Leonov (1899-1994), titled "Leonid Leonov: Igra Ego Byla Ogromna" (2010). Prilepin served as deputy commander of a DPR battalion in Donbas/Donetsk (2015-2018) and survived a car bombing in May 2023.

The only "Zakhar" in the entire corpus is a limousine driver (Cars Co dispatch, June 3, 2016) who drove a Toyota Avalon from LGA Airport for $54.12.
Jelena Leonova appears in ICIJ Offshore Leaks (node 21576) registered in the U.S. Virgin Islands (data through 2010). While the USVI jurisdiction is directly relevant to Epstein's operations, no connection between Jelena Leonova and "Leonic Leonov" has been established.
WHAT THIS SHOWS AND DOES NOT SHOW: "Leonic Leonov" is confirmed void across all 30 data sources in the graph database. The DOJ has stated this name appeared in an FBI photo lineup, not as an Epstein associate. The Prilepin hypothesis (codename derived from Prilepin's Leonov biography) is creative but unsupported by any corpus evidence. The tipster's claim that this person is "internationally unresolved" is contradicted by reporting from OCCRP, The Guardian, and Mercury News, which identified Leonid Leonov as an IT manager in Queens within days of the congressional disclosure.
